Maxxi Opens Indian Highway Touring Group Show

Maxxi in Rome presents Indian Highway Touring Group Show on view from September 22.

Indian Highway presents, through a wide selection of works, the overall picture of contemporary Indian art scene.

The exhibition is an exciting and MAXXI awaited opportunity to learn about the innovative and artistic research is the first Indian study addressed by an Italian museum on the art of this fascinating country.

With 30 artists, 60 works, including site-specific installations designed for 4 MAXXI, and a series of works exhibited here for the first time in their monuments, the exhibition presents a wide representation of the creative panorama of one of the major regions Asian and reflects the economic, social and cultural rights of the last two decades.

Starting from the meaning of the highway as a connecting element between the flows moving from the periphery to the city, says Indian Highway technological development, the economic boom, the growing centrality of the subcontinent, which covers the world from the point of view of art since the early nineties.
