Cleveland Museum of Natural History Presents Owls & Howls Children’s Halloween Party

The Cleveland Museum of Natural History will host Owls & Howls Children’s Halloween Party on Saturday, Oct. 15, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Museum.

Children can come in costume, help make pumpkin treats for the animals in the Perkins Wildlife Center and see what tricks they can play. They will learn about the serious business of animal enrichment and then see the animals at work and play. The event will feature games and crafts such as face painting, mask making, pumpkin decorating and special animal demonstrations featuring the Museum’s resident otters, foxes, raccoons, deer, bobcats and turkey vultures—all in a not-so-spooky setting.

During the event, the Museum will present the Cleveland debut of One World, One Sky: Big Bird’s Adventure. The new planetarium show is made possible by the Hershey Foundation of Cleveland. The Sesame Workshop children’s production follows Sesame Street’s Big Bird and Elmo as they explore the night sky with Hu Hu Zhu, their Chinese friend. Together, they take an imaginary trip from Sesame Street to the moon, where they discover how different it is from Earth.

The Owls & Howls Children’s Halloween Party event is free with Museum admission. Children ages 12 and under in costume are admitted free.

Admission fees are: $10 adults; $8 ages 7-18, college students with valid ID and seniors over age 60; $7 children ages 3-6; free for children 2 and under. Shafran Planetarium shows are $4 with general admission.

The Museum is located at 1 Wade Oval Drive in University Circle, 15 minutes east of downtown Cleveland. For Museum information, call 216-231-4600 or 800-317-9155 or visit www.cmnh.org
