The Foundry Art Centre is proud to host the culturally significant Exhibition – Faith Ringgold: American Quilts – March 2nd through June 1st, 2012 in their Main Gallery space.
An award-winning, internationally recognized African American artist Faith Ringgold began her artistic career more than 35 years ago as a painter. Today, she is best known for her painted story quilts– art that combines painting, quilted fabric, and storytelling. Faith Ringgold: American Quilts features Ms. Ringgold’s work including story quilts, color etchings, acrylic paintings, silkscreen prints, soft sculptures, and tankas (see attached news release and photos/images.)
Daily admission for the Faith Ringgold: American Quilts Exhibition is $5.00 for the general public, and is FREE for Foundry Art Centre members. The Exhibition will be open for viewing during normal FAC hours.
An Opening Reception for the Faith Ringgold: American Quilts Exhibition will take place on Friday, March 2, 2012 from 6-8:00 pm. This opening reception event is FREE and open to the public.
