Contemporary Jewish Museum announces Arts in Nomadic Grove. Write a Ghazal on Your Lunch Hour a workshop on Friday, September 28, 2012 at 12:30 – 1:20 pm.
In conjunction with the exhibition Do Not Destroy: Trees, Art, and Jewish Thought, each final Friday of the month is a chance to learn a new skill during lunchtime while enjoying the beauty of Rebar’s installation, Nomadic Grove, in front of the Museum on Jessie Square. These short, free, drop-in art classes, invite the public to engage artistically with the installation and the Museum. In September, learn the ancient poetic form of the ghazal, consisting of rhyming couplets and a refrain with each line sharing the same meter. Class taught by former Stegner Fellow, Robin Ekiss.
