The Museum of History and Industry re-opens in Seattle on Saturday December 29th, at its new location in South Lake Union Park. Admission is FREE on that day and there are activities, food, and fun planned for the entire weekend.

The restored new facility will provide MOHAI with 50,000 square feet of exhibit space.
The public Grand Opening officially kicks off on Saturday, December 29 with a ribbon-cutting ceremony at 10 am. From 12 pm to 7 pm, hourly performances are scheduled from local acts such as poet Henry Luke, the Chief Sealth Marching Band and opera singer Sarah Fletcher. Visitors will also have the chance to take part in various activities including Salish weaving demonstrations, print making, and a build-your-own periscope project sponsored by the Puget Sound Maritime Historical Society. Food and beverages will be available at the museum’s new Compass Café by Northwest Catering and a number of food trucks including Dante’s Inferno Dogs and Street Treats.
