Harry Potter, Percy Jackson and Star Wars highlight camps on sale now
CINCINNATI – Grab your calendars and start planning the summer for your little explorers. Cincinnati Museum Center Summer Museum Camps are now on sale!
Museum Camps harness your child’s boundless summer energy into creative, hands-on activities and games that sharpen their knowledge of science, technology, history and the arts and build new friendships. Go beyond the classroom with visits from curators, community groups and experts in a variety of fields.
Whatever your schedule, whatever your interests, we have a camp for you. Whether you’re a working parent looking for an alternative to daycare for your future scientist or a parent who wants your amateur historian to spend the summer learning something new, there’s a Museum Camp for that. And this year’s camps are bigger and better than ever. Camps are now available for kids as young as kindergarten and extend through 8th grade. Each camp begins at 9 a.m. and runs through 4 p.m., with before and after care available from 7:30 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Become a Master Builder during LEGO® Master Builder Camp with building challenges that let your imagination run wild. Create your own lightsabers, learn about the science of space and spacecraft technology as you explore a galaxy far, far away in Junior Jedi Camp. Learn about the design, physics and engineering that goes into your favorite amusement park rides, then build your own rollercoaster before you experience them in real life during a visit to Kings Island at Amusement Park Science Camp.
Step into the lab for some explosive science during Crazy Chemistry Camp or run for the hills as you hike, explore and identify native birds and insects at Wilderness Adventure Camp. Channel your inner Indiana Jones and explore the worlds of archaeology and paleontology by digging for fossils and visiting dig sites once inhabited by early Native Americans at Archaeology/Paleontology Camp. Look to the sky and study the mysteries of the universe and beyond with visits to the Cincinnati Observatory and National Museum of the United States Air Force during Air and Space Science Camp. Play Quidditch during Harry Potter Camp, dive into a sea monsters and save Camp Half Blood at Percy Jackson Camp and investigate clues across the city during Cincinnati Spy Camp. From fantasy to fantastic, history to wizardry, there’s something for everyone at Museum Camps.
If you need a warm up or just can’t wait until summer, we’ve got you covered. The LEGO-themed Spring Break Museum Camp will give you the building blocks to unleash the power of your imagination. With a different theme each day you’ll learn what propels a rocket, try your hand at a stop-motion animated movie, experiment with a 3D printer, compete in LEGO building challenges and visit the special exhibit The Art of the Brick. Spring Break Museum Camp runs March 28 through April 1 and has two camp levels: grades K-1 and grades 2-8.
