Cincinnati Museum Center offers unique summer camp experiences

Chemistry, paleontology, Harry Potter highlight camps at Union Terminal and locations across the Tristate

CINCINNATI – There’s still time to sign up for Cincinnati Museum Center’s summer camps. Camps are available for grades K-8 on a variety of topics at Cincinnati Museum Center (CMC) and several off-site locations so there’s sure to be the perfect camp for your kids near you. Summer camps are sold by the week and begin May 30.

You’re just weeks away from a house full of kids with boundless energy but, if you ask them, nothing to do. CMC is here to help you harness that energy into creative, hands-on camps that will sharpen your children’s knowledge of science, technology, history and the arts as they build new friendships. Museum Camps are the perfect way to keep your kids busy, engaged and learning all summer long.

This year, CMC has expanded camp offerings across the Tristate to increase camp offers and bring them closer to you. With campers spread across the Tristate, offerings at the Cincinnati Observatory, Blue Ash Recreation Center, Thomas More College, Villa Madonna Academy, Summit Country Day School and the Greenacres Foundation mean you can find an incredible CMC camp experience at a location close to home.

The Greenacres Foundation is hosting Camp Green III: Ready, Set, Explore! for grades 1-8 to explore woods, ponds, fields and streams as you learn more about the region’s natural history. For those south of the river, CMC is offering camps at Villa Madonna Academy and Thomas More College, convenient alternatives for those searching for Harry Potter, dinosaur and STEAM (science, technology, engineering, art, mathematics) themed camps.

Plus there are still camps available at Union Terminal. Get dirty and dig for bones and secrets to our past in Archaeology/Paleontology Camp, explore the science of meteorology as you build earthquake-resistant buildings and create your own tornado during Wild about Weather Camp and dive into a sea of monsters to save Camp Half Blood at Percy Jackson Camp.

Whatever your situation, whatever your interests, we have a camp for you. Whether you’re a working parent looking for an alternative to daycare for your future scientist or a parent who wants their amateur historian to spend the summer learning something new, there’s a camp for that. This year’s camps are available for kids as young as kindergarten and extend through 8th grade. Each camp begins at 9 a.m. and runs through 4 p.m., with before and after care available from 7:30 a.m. to 6 p.m.

CMC’s Museum Camps are the perfect way to keep your children’s wheels turning and minds active during the brain drain of summer. To view a complete listing of camps with more information visit www.cincymuseum.org/programs/museum-camps. To register call (513) 287-7001.

Summer Camps are sold by the week. Receive $15 off each camp when you register for three or more camps.
