CINCINNATI – Celebrate the richness of cultures from around the world that make Cincinnati such a vibrant city during Cincinnati Museum Center’s World Culture Festival April 23 & 24.
World Culture Festival takes you around the world as Cincinnati Museum Center celebrates the cultures that have influenced many of the things we love today – from the foods we eat and the art we admire to the music we listen to and the way we dance. Dancers, musicians, performers and craftsmen from around the globe gather at the Museum Center to broaden our horizons and celebrate the richness of diversity that makes Cincinnati so great.
Experience cultures from Asia, Africa, South America, Europe and America with live performances, craft demonstrations and hands-on activities. The Sakura Ladies Chorus and the Cincinnati Dayton Taiko Japanese drum group will fill the Rotunda with music from Asia. The vibrant dress and colors of Cincinnati Baila! Dance Academy bring Latin American culture to life. Mbira Cats from the University of Cincinnati will perform traditional South African music and Indian and Middle Eastern music comes to life with Mohenjo Daro. You can also tap along with the Cincinnati Scots Highland Dancers.
Take home a piece of another culture with authentic items from over a dozen vendors. Sample Scottish baked goods from the House of Douglass Bakery, traditional Ecuadorian crafts and an array of handcrafted items from around the world from Ten Thousand Villages , an organization empowering artisans in developing countries by providing economic opportunities to them in North America.
