This November, more than 10,000 daffodil bulbs were planted at the Chesapeake Bay Maritime Museum as part of more than 25,000 bulbs planted in the entire Town of St. Michaels, Md. Funded through philanthropic support, the initiative is the brainchild of the newly formed community organization St. Michaels in Bloom, dedicated to the beautification of St. Michaels.
Through the work of volunteers, St. Michaels in Bloom works to create a welcoming and vibrant landscape for the Town through the planting of colorful flowers, plants, and trees throughout the local business and community district.
The blooms will welcome spring guests to CBMM, and be featured as part of the inaugural St. Michaels Daffodil Festival. The festival is hosted by St. Michaels in Bloom and scheduled to take place April 14-15, 2018. Activities will include a daffodil parade; contests for the best daffodil decorated hats, house, street, and shop window; a daffy-dog costume pageant; and a historic daffodil walk, hosted by the St. Michaels Museum.
