Chesapeake Bay Maritime Museum to host Volunteer Friendraiser

In an effort to grow public programs and improve guest experiences, CBMM is looking for new volunteers interested in sharing the Bay’s history, culture, and environment with guests. No experience is necessary, but an enthusiasm for the Chesapeake, a willingness to learn, and the gift of gab are essential.

Those interested in learning more about these volunteer opportunities are invited to join CBMM volunteers and staff at a Volunteer Friendraiser at 10am Tuesday, Feb. 12, in CBMM’s Van Lennep Auditorium. This event is free, but registration is encouraged to cbmm.org/friendraiser.

This Volunteer Friendraiser includes complimentary refreshments and the opportunity for prospective volunteers to learn more about interpretive opportunities at the museum, with emphasis on adult and school group tours, guest greeting and experience, and training. Current volunteers and staff will be on hand to answer questions during the event.

Volunteers play an essential role in the mission of the Chesapeake Bay Maritime Museum, which draws more than 80,000 annual guests to its 18-acre campus and educational programming. In addition to fellowship, training, and enrichment trips, volunteers also enjoy special events and socials throughout the year, an annual recognition reception, library privileges, discounts in the Museum Store, and more.
