Charles Dickens Museum re-opens on December 10

The Charles Dickens Museum at 48 Doughty Street, London is set to re-open on December 10, 2012 following £3.1m transformation.

Number 48 Doughty Street was an important place in Charles Dickens’s life where he resided from 1837 until 1839. Dickens described the terraced Georgian dwelling as ‘my house in town’.

The Charles Dickens Museum has taken the lead on staging a world-wide programme of activities including exhibitions, film festivals, literary and art commissions, live performances and an educational campaign.
